Ingredients

Sauce

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp ginger minced
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar

Beef

  • 1 1/2 lbs flank steak
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 bunch green onions 2-inch pieces

Instructions

Sauce

  • Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a sauce pan over medium heat
  • Add ginger and garlic, stir for 30 seconds
  • Add soy sauce, water, and brown sugar, bring to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes

Beef

  • Slice flank steak against grain in 1/4 inch slices
  • Toss flank steak in cornstarch and let sit for 10-15 minutes
  • Heat 1 cup vegetable oil in large pan over medium-high heat
  • Add beef, cook for 2-3 minutes until brown and crispy, flipping to cook both sides
  • Remove meat and drain oil
  • Add meat back to pan along with sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring to coat meat
  • Add green onion and remove from heat
  • Serve over rice
